The Heart of Horsemanship first started in 2016. We are the only place in Manitoba, Canada, that combines ponies and play therapy techniques to help all varieties of children. It is our strong belief that play is extremely crucial for a child's development. Using their language along with horses gets lots of learning and magic put together. The Heart of Horsemanship uses a natural method called their own "connected Horsemanship". It's a method based on "understanding yourself, your horse and the language that connects you". By using the same body language as the horse would use to communicate with other horses, we can communicate with them the way that they understand best. This helps to increase motivation, understanding, and relaxation in the horse.​ Our business also involves a non-profit organization where we take on unwanted horses in need of a loving home, training, or severe medical help. We mainly focus on taking in untamed ponies and young horses, training them fully to become triple kids safe ponies or therapy ponies. Lots of rescues have become companions living their best life in our big field once rehabbed.​ ​
