The Heart of Horsemanship first started in 2016. We are the only place in Manitoba Canada that combines horses and play therapy techniques to help all variety of children. It is in our strong believe that play is extremely crucial for a child's development. Using their language along with horses gets lots of learning and magic put together. 

 

The Heart of Horsemanship uses a natural method called to their own "connected Horsemanship". It's a method based on "understanding yourself, your horse and the language that connect you". By using the same body language as the horse would use to communicate with other horses;  we can communicate with them the way that they understand best. This helps to increase motivation, understanding, and relaxation in the horse. By using positive reinforcement we get positive results.

Our business also involves a non-profit organization where we take on unwanted horses in need of a loving home, training, or medical help. We mainly focus on taking in untamed ponies, train them fully to become triple kids safe ponies or therapy ponies what can help our mental healthy community. To learn more, please click here.

Floriane is a certified H.H. instructor as well as certified in Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C. She is in the process of accomplishing her certification true the "Child Centred Animal Assisted Therapy Association" (graduate gate summer of 2024). She also completed her Diploma in the Equine Studies and science (graduate date spring of 2023). Floriane will continue her BA in Psycology in the summer of 2023 and is hoping to obtain her MA in Psychology and become an Equine Play Therapist for children. On a day to day basis she works along with certified therapists, OT's, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, speech and language pathologists, and is part of the weekly physical, mental and trauma programs at Stable Connections to improve her skills and help the community as much as she can.
